GERMAN WASHING & LAUNDRY ROOM

No other area is as different from the US as the laundry room. While Americans prefer to have their washing machine in the kitchen, Germans have it either in the bathroom or in the laundry room. In larger houses, this room is a particular room in which all utensils such as washing powder, fabric softener, stain remover, washing bowl, clothesline, and clothespins are kept. In addition to the washing machine, there is usually a tumble dryer available since the temperatures in Germany do not always make drying outdoors possible.
